I’ve had 2 images shortlisted in the British Photography Awards The overall winners will be picked by a team of judges in January but there’s also a Peoples Award - I’d be really grateful if you voted for me :-)

A behind the scenes look at how I get my squash images. Includes typical camera settings & a processing example. Photographing professional squash is frankly one of the most uncomfortable sports shoots I do, but its return for effort (in terms of producing competition images) is very good.
Diving Gannets has been awarded the top individual award (gold medal) @ the FIAP World Cup for clubs. This is an international competition organised yearly & open to photographic clubs from around the world - 207 clubs from 48 countries entered with a total of 4,118 images. Needless to say I’m pretty chuffed :-)
I’m passionate about printing & every opportunity I get I try to persuade photographers to give it a go. So often I hear horror stories about wasted paper & ink - all of this can be avoided I promise you. So I have a personal mission to simplify printing; here’s a short video showing the settings I use in Photoshop & NIK Effex to prepare an image for printing.
This Grey Seal image taken in the Farne Islands has been chosen to feature in the month of August on the RSPB 2021 calendar. I actually entered in the hope of getting the gannets image selected - I only added the seal because the entry allowed for up to 4 images to be submitted. Never thought a non-bird would get a spot, but I’m delighted it has!
One of the questions I get asked most often when I deliver talks to camera clubs is about printing from Lightroom. There’s no doubt that unless you get a few vital settings correct in the Lightroom Print Module then you can have all sorts of problems. I recorded this video tutorial for my Workshop but I thought I’d make it generally available because I’d genuinely like to see as many people as possible print their images without frustration.
